About Me
Hello! My name is Sam Williams.
Double Zero Games where I host my independent games and interactive projects.
It's also where you can find out what I can bring to your project!
I am a writer and narrative designer obsessed with combining immersion and agency in games. I am especially excited by the new kinds of experience made possibl by emerging technologies.
My background combines international journalism, global contemporary art and immersive theatre. This unusual mix means that as well telling stories from the frontlines, I have insight into the new kinds of experience forged at the intersection of art, media and technology, and how to channel these insights into transformative experiences through the alchemy of live performance.
I have 15 years of cross-disciplinary live, multimedia and interactive storytelling experience across commercial global entertainment, boundary-pushing

Excelling in worldbuilding, dialogue and structure across a range of styles, tones and genres, I enjoy weaving epic narratives of changing worlds with satisfying character journeys, drawing on a broad knowledge of culture, ancient traditions, and myth as well as world events and life experience. My background in journalism, reporting internationally on politics, culture and social movements has provided unique access to some of the the real-life stories shaping the world we're in.

With the benefit of conservatoire training and experience in interactive theatre, I am confident directing performers and designing interactions in space, whether developing an original project from, working on direct adaptations or expanding an existing universe, As well as classical dramaturgy and designing interactive experiences, I have run writers' rooms and collaborated with writers, directors, sound and video designers for leading theatres and broadcast media.

As a writer and curator at the heart of Berlin's global art scene, I collaborated with artists innovating how stories are told and experienced across film, performance, media, tech and interactive art. I am hugely excited to apply this toolkit to create new storytelling experiences in gaming.

My early background in strategic communications for huge brands including Disney and the Royal Opera House is the cornerstone of my creative work. From this foundation in audience-driven storytelling for public platforms to strict deadlines, I work to align creative vision and commercial aims with integrity: a strong brand identity harnesses the transformative power of interactive storytelling to build audience communities and enrich individual lives.
